Former employees sue State Bar of Nevada overalleged abuse

I would surmise that the accusation of abuse wouldn’t affect the effectiveness of the State Bar of Nevada and how that really pertains to the people that use this resource. Regardless, it’s important to be aware of what is going on with this group. They serve as a resource to the community to find lawyers but to also oversee the actions of attorneys in Nevada. As I was doing some research on this particular topic I came across some very interesting articles in the Las Vegas Sun. These articles speak to the absolute necessity of the service AttorneyGuide.com provides to the people in Nevada. Here’s a summary of some of the articles:

  1. Accused lawyers rarely investigated

“The security fund, which reimburses clients who have been ripped off by their attorneys, found that 21 attorneys, most from Las Vegas, had stolen $1.2 million from their clients during 2004 and 2005

Yet the lawyers who the fund concluded were crooks – sometimes they admitted the theft – never were criminally investigated or prosecuted.”

How absolutely scary is that?  That definitely leaves me questioning our legal system.

  • Vegas men accused of running fraudulent Legal Aid program

  • State bar files suit over lost money

“The Bar Association believes the money has been embezzled and has notified the district attorney, the Nevada attorney general, the U.S. attorney, and the Nevada Supreme Court.”

The real bottom line of these articles is that there is corruption in all businesses, not just the legal field.  Please use www.attorneyguide.com to help you find Certified Ethical Attorneys.
